IDENTITY CARD :

               A non transferable identity card is issued to each student. The card containing relevant information of the holder together with a recent photograph must be duly endorsed by the principal. The card is essential for recognition of any claim by the student concerned and must be produced when demanded.

ATTENDANCE :

             Attendance in classes is compulsory .student failing to attend 75% of the classes held will be declared non - collegiate and those failing to attend 60%of the classes will be declared discollegiate.

EXAMINATION :

             Both the first year and the second year student of H.S will have to appear in the final examination on the dates scheduled by the Assam higher secondary council. 
A student must pass the first year examination for promotion of the second year class.
A part from the final examinations all the student will have to appear in the four unit test conducted by the college. As in the cases of H.S. Classes, Four Unit Tests are conducted in the degree in the degree classes also Students failing to appear in the unit tests will be penalized.


COLLEGE UNIFORM :

            1. BOYS: BLACK LONG PANT &SKY BLUE SHIRT.
               2. GIRLS: SKY BLUE CHURIDAR (TOP), BLACK PAIZAMA & BLACK CHURUNI.

CLASS ROOM :


           There are sufficient number of class rooms available in the college to facilitate the student the students . All rooms are provided with sufficient number of fans and lighting arrangement.

AUDITORIUM :


           The auditorium of the college can accommodate about seven hundred person. The auditorium has also a permanent stage . All the important functions and meetings are held here.

STUDENT COMMON ROOM :


          Separate common room for boys and girls with adequate facilities of toilets, drinking water and recreation are available in the college.

TEACHERS COMMON ROOM :


          A well furnished teachers common room is there in the main building of the college.

COMPUTER EDUCATION CENTRE :


         The college also provides computer to the interested students at a minimum fee structure. The computer centre of the college offers various courses like Advanced Diploma in Computer Programming (ADCP), Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) etc.

EXTANTATION EDUCATION CENTRE :


        Extension Education Centre of Saraighat College was opened in the year 2002 with the broader objectives of extending knowledge and other institutional resources and sociocultural realities.
In persuasion of these objectives the centre has undertaken various programmes like organizing free health camps in nearby backward areas , exposing the faculty and students to community citizens. This centre has also , undertaken various other long term and short term Programmes individually as well as in collaboration with various N.G.O.s.


CAREER COUNSELLING :


         There is a career counselling centre in the college to give proper guidance and advice to the students regarding carrier option.

N.C.C and N.S.S :


         The college has undertaken a new endeavour to introduce a unit of N.C.C and N.S.S. in the current year which will provide necessary training and chance to the students to take part in various social service schemes.

EXCURSION :


         Various departments of the college organize educational tours regularly with the aid of State Government through which students get a chance to widen there knowledge.


WOMEN'S STUDIES CELL :


         The women's studies cell has been opened in july, 2002 under the guidance of the Women's Studies research Centre, Guwahati University according To U.G.C. Guidelines. Several Surveys and schemes have also been undertaken in collaboration with local Mahila Samities.


SCHOLARSHIP, AWARDS ETC. :


         The Scholarship section of the college office is responsible for the matters relating to various scholarship . Generally the following categories of the Scholarships are available to the students.
                         a. National Scholarship
                         b. State Merit Scholarship
                         c. SC/ST Scholarship
                         d. OBC/ MOBC/ Tea-Garden Labour Scholarship
Scholarship money is paid to the students through A/C payees cheques only.

AWARD OF MERIT :


          A cash prize of Rs.500/- is awarded to the Rank Holder student in H.S. & TDC Final Examination . Another cash prize of Rs. 501/- awarded to the students securing the highest marks in H.S. and TDC Final Examination . However , the student must secure 60% or more marks in the examination to get the above mentioned prize.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND STUDENTS UNION :


         
The college organizes various co-curricular activities through the students union and the different societies to promote a healthy corporate life among the students and to give opportunities for their all round development. Debates, quiz , seminars, workshop etc. are held at regular intervals . The students can show their literary talents in the annual journal "Saraighat " and also in wall magazines maintained by the college. Efforts are also on to publish a Teachers Bulletin annually from the current year. The various associations / Organinizations associated various co-curricular activities are are -
                   a. History Study Circle.
                   b. sahitya Chora.
                   c. Forum for English Studies
The saraighat college student's Union is the general body of the students Union is the general body of the students in the college . Its membership is compulsory for every students admitted into the college. The office bearer of the Union are elected annually through serectballot. Various activities like Games , Sports, Debate, Cultural Show, Social Service etc. are organized by the union . They also conduct the college week and the Freshmen's Social.


COLLEGE DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE :


            College disciplinary committee is concerned with the maintenance of rules and regulations and thereby to enhance the overall academic atmosphere in the college. Finally all powers are vested in the hands of the Principal in this sphere .

          There is a steering committee to look into overall development of the college comprising members of teachers , students , Office Staff , Governing Body and the Principal. 
Under this committee there are several numbers of sub- committee approved by the governing body of the college to look into various activities of the college . They are as follows :-
